Description

Big File! Sorry.

So I recently watched Avatar, which was awesome, and I have had a number of ideas banging around my head ever since I saw it. Well the perfect opportunity came along in the form of a contest at :iconthenaviavatars:, and this is my entry. Meet the Seze K'etse, or blue flower-tail. It was inspired by a mixture between an ostrich, a flower called the bird-of-paradise, and swallowtail butterflies...I had a lot of fun on this one, though I think I'd prefer to stay away from neon pastel colors for a while before I try painting with them again. :faint:

Here's some info on the birdy!

----------------------------------------------------------

Common name: Blue flower-tail
Na'vi name: Seze k'etse
Height: 13'
Diet: Mostly seeds, grasses, and fruits, but it will eat the occasional lizard or small mammal.
Habitat: Dense tropical rainforest, though it has been seen to venture out in semi woodland.

The Seze is flightless, and uses it's strong, muscular legs for running away from danger. It is remarkably agile and can weave through even the most dense of foliage amazingly quickly, but if it is cornered, it will turn and spread its wings and tail wide in a flash of color to intimidate its attacker. If this does not work, then it will dip its head down, then raise it again quickly, raising the brightly colored crest on its head as it hisses like a goose. It will do this repeatedly until the attacker gives up, but if the predator continues, the Seze can deliver a powerful kick with its two-toed feet powerful enough to seriously injure the predator.
